2015 weddings have showcased bold use of colour, from farm to fork catering and finished off with naked or Victoriana style wedding cakes. We've also seen Downtown Abbey influenced dresses, elaborate veils and throughout venue finishing.
But what is coming up for all you lovely brides planning your 2016 wedding?
Barely there (pastels) are looking popular on the wedding dress front, with shades of pink and rose seen across all the runway shows. Check out Jenny Packham's 2016 catwalk (I bet you will feel all floaty after watching!) and Houghton's exotic designs. V neck and bateau line designs seem to be de rigueur as well.
Given that feathers are also featuring heavily in 2016 wedding dress designs too, I forsee that these will feature within wedding bouquets too. I love this, its slightly boho and really natural.
Going back to the pastels, check out this stunning 2016 bouquet trends Pinterest board from Vanessa Hinks (pastel freesias, roses and peonies aplenty).
In terms of wedding cakes, couples on a budget are saving on the third course and using pudding cakes as an alternative. Think dessert in tiers like banoffee cake, cheesecake, or for a real showstopper a croquembouche or macaron towers.
For those who like it bold, glamorous cakes with shimmer, sequin or a metallic finish are all the rage. Here's a beautiful selection courtesy of brides.com.

On Sat 21st March, I set up a display at Selden Barn with a bevy of cupcakes and three-tiered naked wedding cake. All for a lovely, newly married couple Courtney & Preshan.
I got to meet the delightful Manager - Val, whose calm manner and professionalism impressed me. But...the wow factor was the amazing venue and stunning surroundings. It was probably the fact it was so similar to my wedding venue in Kent, that it left me feeling really relaxed there.
The initial view of the estate when you come over the brow of the hill on the single country lane was breath-taking, yet this was on an overcast day. I could imagine it would be just perfect in sunny weather.
The fact that it was just a short drive away from the A27, yet was really quiet - due to the estate being in grassy valley, is a major pull too.
I hope to do some more wedding cakes for couples there and would really recommend to any West Sussex couples planning their wedding.
If you're planning your wedding and you want to get a flavour of what I do, I've just booked up for The Vintage Seaside Wedding Fair on Oct 18th with the lovely Kelly of Belles Events.
It's such a fantastic venue and a brilliant backdrop for all things vintage wedding inspired. I look forward to meeting some wonderful couples.
Come and have a taste of my tempting bakes! x
